Description from the seller
Exceptional 19th-century Montcenis crystal carafe, distinguished by its rare sculptural silhouette and remarkable brilliance.
The piece presents an elegant conical body rising towards a beautifully shaped pouring spout, balanced by a long, slender loop handle that gives the composition an exceptionally graceful and architectural appearance. The crystal is delicately decorated with finely engraved floral garlands, foliage and ornamental motifs, creating a refined contrast between the frosted decoration and the perfectly transparent surface.
The substantial lower section and softly flared body beautifully capture and reflect the light, revealing the exceptional purity, clarity and luminous brilliance of the crystal.
It remains in excellent antique condition, particularly remarkable for a 19th-century piece. A few light surface scratches and normal traces of age are present, without detracting from its beauty or decorative presence. The crystal retains superb brilliance and clarity. Please note that the faceted stopper is a later replacement and is not original to.
Please consider the photographs an integral part of the description.
