AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

Elegant pair of antique French pressed-glass serving pieces by Schmid Verreries, Vannes-le-Châtel, dating from the beginning of the 20th century. Both pieces bear the moulded S.V. factory mark.
The first piece is a shallow pedestal cake stand or serving tray distinguished by its spectacular radiating spiral design. Deeply moulded curved ribs unfold from the centre in a dynamic swirling movement, terminating in a softly scalloped border. The same spiral motif is repeated on the substantial low pedestal foot, creating a beautifully harmonious and sculptural composition.
The second piece is a deep pedestal fruit bowl or compote featuring a richly geometric diamond-lattice pattern. Its faceted surface creates a magnificent play of light, while the shaped border is decorated with a succession of rounded teardrop motifs. The bowl is raised upon an elegant quatrefoil-shaped pedestal, giving it a refined architectural presence.
Although different in decoration, the two pieces complement one another beautifully through their clear luminous glass, elaborate moulded patterns and gracefully shaped borders. They may be used as fruit bowls, cake stands or decorative table centrepieces.
Both pieces remain in excellent antique condition, with remarkable brilliance and clarity. Only very discreet traces of time may be present, entirely consistent with their age and without detracting from their beauty or functionality.
Please consider the photographs an integral part of the description.
