Arnaldo Pomodoro - Il Sogno di FMR - 2005

Rare and exclusive high-quality art edition published in 2005 by FMR - Gruppo Art'è, created to celebrate the iconographic history and beauty of the famous publishing house founded by Franco Maria Ricci.

The work is printed in a limited worldwide edition and numbered (only 2,750 copies in total).

Impressive format: Monumental volume of large size, approximately 36 x 47 cm.

Pages: 460 pages in total, enriched by 295 splendid full-color plates (out-of-text) printed on fine 170 g Gardamat matte paper. Texts printed with Bodoni type on special laid paper in pure chiffon from Cartiere Magnani of Pescia.

Binding: Full black leather, high quality. The spine features four prominent ribs with the title and the year of publication impressed in gold letters.

Cover artwork: On the front board is set an original bas-relief sculpture-seal by master Arnaldo Pomodoro (dimensions 90 x 60 mm). The metal plaque was minted and finished with 24-carat galvanic gilding at the historic Johnson Artistic Laboratory in Milan (bearing the master’s signature and punch marks).

Curator: Gianni Guadalupi, with a preface by Louis Godart and an introduction by Antonio Paolucci.

External and internal conditions: The volume presents itself in overall excellent condition. The binding leather is well preserved, the interior pages are fresh and clean, free of foxing, writings or tears. The gilding of Pomodoro’s sculpture is glossy and free of significant scratches.

Important notes on the edition: The work is lacking the original distribution box/valise and the loose paper certificate. Absolute authenticity and the progressive numbering of the copy are officially guaranteed and certified by the integrated editorial colophon printed at the bottom of the volume.
