Description from the seller
Fascinating and rare mechanical travel alarm clock Emes Sonochron, produced in Germany in the 1970s. This model stands out for its iconic Space Age design and the vivid bright-green plastic case. It is a very compact piece, with a width of just under 8 cm. Its main feature is the ingenious slide alarm mechanism: the outer case extends and contracts physically to activate or deactivate the alarm. The alarm time is set by turning the dial on the knurled outer part. A very beautiful and distinctive timepiece, also excellent as a small Space Age desk clock with undeniable appeal.
Condition and operation:
Esthetics: Excellent vintage condition, glossy plastic and vivid color.
Clock: The mechanical movement winds well, the time setting is correct, and it keeps good time.
Alarm: The slide mechanism operates perfectly and the dial turns correctly. Note: I cannot guarantee that the alarm will sound, since verifying it would require opening the clock to check and insert the battery that powers the chime. It is sold not tested for the acoustic function.
