Description from the seller

Antique Transformable Centerpiece Stand in 800 Silver and Glass – France, late 19th Century

Splendid and refined fruit or dessert centerpiece from French manufacture, dating to the end of the 19th century (circa 1880-1900).
The item stands out for its exceptional modularity: thanks to the refined threaded central shaft and the rosette silver knob, the centerpiece can be easily disassembled. The base can thus be transformed and used as an elegant single-flame candlestick in full Neoclassical / Empire style.

Historical Characteristics and Details:

* The Base (Candelabrum): Made in solid silver, it features a sturdy square base that rests on four elegantly lobed feet. The shaft and base are decorated with classic geometric frames and beaded motifs typical of the era.
* The Plate: Pressed glass from the 19th century (consistent with the quality of historic French manufactories such as Baccarat or Saint-Louis), decorated with a dense and bright pattern of "diamond points" and an elegant scalloped edge.
* The Punches (Punzoni): On the square base, the French assay marks are clearly impressed (in use since 1838). In particular, the famous Boar Head mark (Hure de sanglier) is visible, officially certifying the solid silver at a minimum standard of 800/1000 for Parisian manufacture.

Technical Specifications:
* Material: Solid silver 800 (body and upper knob) and worked glass.
* Overall height of the centerpiece: 14 cm
* Diameter of the glass plate: 28 cm
* Silver weight: 146 grams (weight of the metal structure only, excluding the glass plate).
* Total overall weight: 1850 grams (silver structure + glass plate).
* Era: Late 19th Century (circa 1880-1900)
* Origin: France (Paris)

Condition: Excellent overall condition consistent with the object's age. The glass is intact, free of chipping or obvious cracks, perfect.
The silver displays a beautiful aged patina and the normal micro-scratches of time that attest to its authenticity. The assay marks are partially worn by time but readable in their identifying lines.

An extremely elegant collectible piece, perfect both as a display centerpiece and as a refined functional element for a prestigious table.
