France-made Saint-Louis Massenet crystal decanter for wine or liqueur, 34 cm tall and 12 cm wide, in antique style with a hand-cut, faceted body and original ogive stopper; estimated period 1900–1910 and in as-new condition.

Elegant and exclusive wine or liqueur decanter in fine transparent crystal, produced by the historic and renowned Cristallerie Saint-Louis (France). The item belongs to the famous model "Massenet", a great classic of the craftsmanship introduced between the late 19th century and the early 20th century, renowned for the complexity and refinement of its workmanship. The body of the decanter is entirely hand-decorated with rich geometric facets in dense patterns of stars and interlaced lozenges, designed to superbly refract natural light. The neck features linear vertical facets, topped by an elegant original stopper coordinated with an ogive cut. A detail of absolute historical and collectible value is the presence of the number 64 hand-engraved both on the base of the stopper and on the neck/bottom of the decanter. This pairing number testifies to the ancient artisanal craftsmanship: each piece was ground individually on its respective neck to ensure a perfectly airtight and custom fit.
