Description from the seller

Particularly elegant and regal vintage table lamp with a beautiful combination of glossy white opal/milk glass, chrome-colored details, and a large pleated lampshade. Thanks to its substantial size, soft rounded shapes, and restrained color scheme, this is not only a functional lamp but also a very decorative interior object.

The design clearly shows influences from mid-century and Space Age design from the second half of the 20th century.

Especially the almost organically formed, bulging glass foot gives the lamp its characteristic look. The combination with the chrome-colored details creates a striking contrast between the soft white glass and the cool, glossy metal.

Glass lamp base

The substantial base is made of glossy white opal/milk glass and has a nicely rounded silhouette. From the wide, bulbous lower part, the body smoothly narrows as it rises toward the socket. This creates an elegant teardrop- or egg-shaped form.

The high-gloss surface of the glass captures ambient light in a remarkable way. Depending on the light incidence, subtle reflections appear across the surface, giving the lamp an attractive appearance whether it is on or off.

At the bottom, the glass foot rests on a round chrome-colored metal base. The same material is echoed around the neck and socket. These metal accents enhance the lamp’s luxurious character and provide a stylish contrast with the white glass.

Lampshade

The lamp is offered complete with the depicted large conical shade. In terms of proportions, this shade complements the generous glass foot particularly well.

The shade is finished in a light cream/beige tone and has a fine vertically pleated texture. The many narrow lines give the shade extra depth and help spread the light in a warmly atmospheric way.

Along both the top and bottom edges, the shade is finished with a narrow metal/chrome-colored rim. This detail nicely complements the metal parts of the lamp base and ensures that base and shade form a visually cohesive unit.

When the lamp is lit, the shade is warmed from the inside. This creates a soft, warm, and diffuse light distribution, very suitable as mood lighting in, for example, a living room, bedroom, study, or hotel-lobby-style interior.

Style and application

Due to its generous size, this lamp is particularly suitable as a true statement piece. It shines especially on a large sideboard, console, sidetable, desk, or a spacious coffee table.

The design is easy to pair with various interior styles. In a vintage or mid-century interior, the lamp naturally complements it, but thanks to its neutral white color and simple rounded forms, it can also provide an attractive contrast within a modern or eclectic interior.

The bulbous glass foot gives the lamp a subtle Space Age vibe, while the classic conical shade in turn provides a timeless character.
