This hand-knotted Oriental rug from Afghanistan features a traditional Khal Mohammadi design. The bold red field is adorned with regularly arranged geometric Gol motifs and stylized floral ornaments.

Several broad, meticulously patterned borders in varying shades of red, brown, and dark tones frame the central field harmoniously. The characteristic tonal-on-tonal color palette and the traditional geometric drawing give the rug a warm and distinctive appearance.
