This hand-knotted Bidjar rug from India shows a classic Herati design with a geometrically elaborated central medallion. The rich red interior field is densely arranged with stylized flowers, tendrils, lozenges and traditional Herati motifs.

Terraced corner ornaments and several intricately patterned borders in dark blue, red, green and beige frame the interior field harmoniously. The contrasting color palette and dense patterning give the rug a traditional and distinctive appearance.

Due to its narrow format, the rug is especially suitable for corridors, hallways, entryways or as a decorative accent in living and working spaces.
