AI-assisted summary

Description from the seller

1950–1960 – Monumental Neoclassical Empire-style table lamp – Brass, Blue & Gold, 71 cm

For sale is an exceptionally representative, large-format table lamp from the mid-20th century, dated to approximately 1950–1960.

With a height of about 71 cm and a width of about 38 cm, the lamp possesses an impressive, almost sculptural presence. The elaborately designed lamp body combines an elegant light-blue lacquer with numerous gold- and brass-colored ornaments.

The design is clearly inspired by Neoclassicism and the Empire style. Notably, the splendid festoons and garlands, floral relief ornaments, decorative appliqués, the urn- or goblet-shaped shaft, and the richly decorated, radiantly ornamented lamp base stand out.

A special highlight is the large cream-white drum shade. The surface appears high-quality and leather-like and could be leather or leather-like material; a definitive material determination is not made. The shade is in exceptionally beautiful condition and shows no detectable cracks, creases, or major damage. The surrounding gold-colored border with floral ornaments underscores the lamp’s magnificent character.

The original historic wiring with a cord switch is preserved. The lamp has two light sources and is fully functional.

Especially impressive is the combination of dove blue, gold, and brass, as well as the unusually elaborate ornamental design. The lamp does not merely look like a light source, but as an independent decorative object with strong representational impact.

Measurements:
• Height: approx. 71 cm
• Width: approx. 38 cm
• 2 light sources
• original historic cable with cord switch
• fully functional

Condition:
Very good, exceptionally well-preserved condition. No detectable cracks or creases in the shade. The decorative surfaces and ornaments are exceptionally attractive.

An imposing and highly decorative vintage table lamp with magnificent Neoclassical or Empire-inspired design – an extraordinary piece for lovers of representative lighting and decorative interiors.
