Offering a Leica Leitz Canada Summilux 35 mm f/1.4, one of the most highly regarded classic lenses of the Leica M system.
The lot includes the 12504 hood with its TYPE 7 filter, and a non-original rear cap.
Manufactured by Leitz Canada, this lens belongs to the classic generation predating the ASPH version and is especially valued for its unique optical character.
At maximum aperture it offers a very smooth tonal transition, natural bokeh, and an excellent sense of depth.
Many photographers associate this rendering with the well-known "Leica Glow," a combination of high resolution in the focus plane with a smooth transition into the out-of-focus areas, giving images a particularly organic and three-dimensional look.
When stopping down slightly, the lens offers a notable increase in contrast and sharpness, maintaining a very balanced rendition.
