Description from the seller
20th-century musical marquetry work table
Elegant sewing/occasional table in veneered wood, richly decorated with botanical motifs and arabesques crafted with different contrasting woods.
The top features a very beautiful geometric composition organized around a central medallion, surrounded by delicate floral scrolls. The front also reproduces a particularly fine marquetry decoration, giving this small table a lot of character.
The top is hinged and closes with a key. Inside there is a compartmented storage space, originally used to store sewing materials or small personal objects.
The table also has an integrated musical mechanism, characteristic of many decorative Italian marquetry tables produced, notably in the Sorrento tradition, a region renowned for this craft.
It rests on four slightly curved legs that give it an elegant and light silhouette.
Dimensions:
Height: 50 cm
Length: 43 cm
Width: 34 cm
Condition: very good overall for its age. The marquetry still shows very beautiful contrasts, and the whole is particularly decorative.

Material: wood and marquetry
Probable country of origin: Italy
