Description from the seller

Description:
An exquisite and highly collectible 7-piece antique Victorian majolica dessert/fruit set manufactured by the renowned German firm Villeroy & Boch (Schramberg factory), dating to circa 1880.

The set showcases a stunning high-relief design, featuring central teal/turquoise glazed cameo portrait medallions. The 6 individual plates feature an elegant male profile, while the large central centerpiece displays a female profile. The portraits are beautifully framed by a cream/ivory background enriched with heavy embossed floral patterns, scrolls, and delicate gilt accents along the scalloped borders.

The set consists of:
* 1 Large Centerpiece Tazza (Footed Fruit Bowl / Compote)
* 6 Matching Decorative Plates

Dimensions:
* Tazza (Centerpiece bowl): Diameter approx. 26 cm, Height approx. 8.5 cm
* Plates: Diameter approx. 19.5 cm each

Condition Report:
* Plates: Beautiful antique condition with vibrant glaze. Displays charming signs of age and honest use, including typical light wear/rubbing to the high points of the relief portraits (such as the nose and brow). Some minor age-related gilt wear and tiny production firing specks. No cracks or restorations.
* Tazza: Presents beautifully. There are two chips on the reverse/underneath side of the rim (one slightly larger, one smaller). Crucially, these chips are completely invisible from the top/front view and do not affect the display quality of the piece. The foot, stem, and main body are intact with expected light crazing consistent with 19th-century majolica.

Markings:
The reverse of the pieces features the authentic impressed "V&B" circle mark, model number 682, and other production numbers in the paste.
