Description from the seller

Set of 12 Japanese Fine Porcelain Small Plates — Iridescent Dragon and Geisha Figurative Scene (20th Century) — Moriage Raised Detailing

TECHNICAL SHEET;
Type: Set of 12 display/dessert plates
Material: Fine porcelain / thin ceramic (egg-shell style)
Origin: Japan
Period: Mid-20th century (Showa period)
Craft: Entirely hand-painted with three-dimensional raised Moriage details on both sets, iridescent surface (Dragon set) and gold finishes (Geisha set).

LOT DESCRIPTION:
The lot comprises two distinct sets of plates (12 pieces total) of Japanese and Chinese manufacture in thin porcelain. The peculiarity of this lot lies in the presence on both sets of the refined Moriage craftsmanship—a hand-applied thick enamel relief that adds tangible body and texture to the decorations.

1. Set "Eastern Dragon" (6 pieces)
Dimensions: Diameter 20 cm | Height 2 cm
Raised Decoration: The central dragon is strongly three-dimensional; thick enamels delineate scales, whiskers, head and claws.
Surface Finish: The plate base features a refined iridescent mother-of-pearl patina that creates shifting reflections with changes in light, completed by a lilac/blue airbrushed shading on the perimeter and stylized coral-colored elements.
Factory Mark (Back): Red enamel stamp depicting a crown, the inscription "LUCKY" and a laurel wreath.

2. Set "Landscape with Geisha" (6 pieces)
Dimensions: Diameter 18 cm | Height 2 cm
Raised Decoration: Multicolored figurative scene depicting three women in traditional dress, immersed in a lakeside landscape with pines and thatched-roof houses. Moriage relief is evident in the dense cherry blossom tree (sakura) created with three-dimensional pink enamel stippling, and in the reliefs of the garments.
Edge Finish: Tense frame outlined by a geometric fretwork painted in gold enamel.
Factory Mark (Back): Red enamel diamond-shaped stamp with the inscription "E A C - HAND PAINTED - MADE IN JAPAN".
The manual enamel work makes each piece in the lot unique in minor details and shading.

CONDITION OF THE LOT:
Generally excellent for its age. Raised enamels, colors, gold finishes and iridescence are well preserved and bright.
Note: there are a few tiny nicks on the edges of some plates; a careful review of the gallery photographs is recommended.
The attached photographs show in detail each piece and its respective defects, forming an integral part of the description.

PACKING AND SHIPPING
Packaging: Ultra-protective packaging specifically for fragile ceramics. Each piece is individually wrapped in high-bubble plastic, secured in a reinforced box with cushioned filler.
Shipping: Tracked and fast international express courier. Tracking code provided soon after shipment.
NOTE: Any extra-EU duties or taxes will be the responsibility of the buyer.
