Description from the seller

Saint Antipas of Pergamon (Saint Antipas, bishop and martyr).
Central figure: Saint Antipas appears as a bishop, with a halo and episcopal vestments.
Open book: he holds the Gospel, a symbol of his authority as bishop and preacher.
Side scenes: they probably depict episodes from his life and martyrdom.
The vegetal and geometric decoration of the frame is characteristic of the Eastern iconographic tradition.

Saint Antipas was the bishop of Pergamon and one of the early Christian martyrs. He is expressly mentioned in Revelation 2:13 as “my faithful witness, Antipas.” Tradition holds that he died martyr inside a bronze bull heated by fire. His feast day is celebrated on April 11, and he is considered the protector against toothaches and the traditional patron of those suffering from dental diseases.
