A remarkable pair, beautiful antique bronze andirons of heavy quality with fender. Very nicely executed in an exuberant, historicising style with a beautifully openwork ornament, scrolls and floral motifs. The items have a warm patina. The tall back supports are crowned with graceful, outwardly curling ornaments. The central section features a decorative medallion with floral motifs and is flanked by richly worked ornaments. The underside rests on nicely designed pedestals. A striking and decorative pair, suitable as a fireplace ornament but also suitable in a classical interior.
