Italian vintage centrepiece urn in heavy hand-cut crystal with a solid silver 800 mount, 22 cm high, 11 cm diameter, 952 g, dating to the 1960s–1970s, in good condition.
Description from the seller
Heavy hand-cut glass crystal and 800 silver. Period: Second half of the 20th century (ca. 1965 - 1975). Country of origin: Italy. Condition: Excellent general condition. The crystal is completely intact, free from chips, cracks, or patination. The silver shows a slight and fascinating patina of time and small signs of wear consistent with the object's age, which attest to its authenticity.
Elegant and majestic centerpiece urn (biscuit jar/parade vase) of refined Italian artistic craftsmanship. The object stands out for the superb contrast between the body in heavy crystal, richly worked with a deep diamond-shaped grinding that creates extraordinary plays of light, and the precious finishes in solid silver.
The upper mounting features a chased edge, embellished with two tall and scenographic fixed handles decorated with ornamental volutes in perfect Neoclassical/Empire style. The body attaches to a slender silver shaft that rests on a solid and substantial square base, also entirely made in 800 silver.
On the metal the law hallmark "Arg 800" is clearly visible, accompanied by a second hallmarked stamp now difficult to read due to time wear, which nevertheless guarantees authenticity and Italian provenance.
A high-level antique furnishing piece, ideal for collectors or to embellish exclusive interiors.
Dimensions of the item:
Total height (including handles): 22 cm
Diameter of the upper rim: 11 cm
Square base: 10 x 10 cm
Total weight: 952 g
