Lovely antique door knocker / lion-head door trim in cast bronze, late 19th century / early 20th century (Victorian / Neoclassical style).
Elegant oval-shaped door knocker or antique knocker, crafted from solid cast brass (or patinated bronze). The central section features a carved relief sculpture with the effigy of a lion head with an imposing expression and a detailed mane, a classic Victorian motif symbolizing protection and prestige. The exterior impact ring is hinged at the top and finished at the base with a stylized shell-shaped escutcheon.
Excellent age-appropriate condition, with the mechanism fully functional and a natural patina aged by time.
