Ceiling lamp - Brass - Great Moorish lamp

Magnificent large pierced brass ceiling lampshade, made in the Moorish and Islamic ornamental tradition, probably of Moroccan origin and datable to the mid to late 20th century.

With a diameter of 45 cm, it stands out for the extraordinary richness of its decorative work. Practically the entire surface is meticulously pierced, forming a succession of intertwined geometric rosettes, arranged around an elaborate central medallion inspired by floral motifs and arabesque. The broad edge combines a hammered finish with incised decoration, creating an attractive contrast of textures.

The intricate piercing serves not only an ornamental function: conceived as a lighting element, it allows light to pass through hundreds of small openings, creating a characteristic play of light and shadow with Oriental inspiration on walls and ceiling.

On the reverse, it retains its metal supporting structure and original fixing elements, including the central system intended for mounting the fixture. It is offered as shown in the photographs, without electrical installation, so it must be adapted and inspected by a professional before use.

It presents patina, surface oxidation and signs of age and use, especially visible on the reverse, preserving precisely the character and presence of vintage brass. The elaborate piercing is particularly attractive on the visible face.
