DESCRIPTION
The Canon 7 was Canon's most advanced screw-mount rangefinder, built in 1961 as the company's answer to the Leica M. It carries a large, bright viewfinder with selectable frame lines for 35, 50, 85/100 and 135mm, and a built-in selenium meter that needs no battery. Alongside the standard L39 screw thread it has an outer bayonet, fitted specifically for the legendary 50mm F0.95 'dream lens'. It accepts the whole world of L39 glass from Canon, Leitz, Nikon and Voigtländer.

CONDITION
- Appearance: Shows use consistent with its age. There are light marks and some spotting on the chrome top and base plates, and the covering shows wear at the edges. The engravings remain clear.
- Functional: Tested and working. The shutter fires at all speeds, the film advance and rewind operate, and the rangefinder patch is visible and aligns.
- Viewfinder: Usable, with some dust and haze typical of a camera of this age. The frame line selector works.
- Note: The selenium meter is over sixty years old; as with all cameras of this generation its reading should not be relied upon for critical work.
