Description from the seller
Very beautiful old decorative copper teapot or kettle, enhanced by a rich geometric and vegetal motif in chiselled brass mounted on the pieces.
The body, bulbous in shape, is made of copper, with a particularly elaborate decor comprising stylized motifs of scrolls and arabesques.
The decorative elements contrast elegantly with the warm patina of the copper.
The whole is completed by a top handle in brass, an elegantly curved spout, and a domed lid with a turned knob.
The piece displays a true artisanal character: the various decorative elements, their outlines and their placement show hand-made work.
The surface bears a natural antique patina, with traces of oxidation and wear consistent with the object's age and use.
Some marks, scuffs and small irregularities are visible, notably around the decorative elements and fastenings (see photos).
These traces contribute to its antique and authentic appearance.
A particularly decorative piece, which may interest enthusiasts of old copperware, oriental craftsmanship, tea objects and decorative metal pieces.
Era: 20th century, probably first half / mid-20th century
Materials: copper and brass
Technique: metalwork and decoration carried out by hand
Condition: antique state with patina, wear and traces of oxidation visible in the photographs.
