This staff is known as the "Ofo", a ritual symbol of authority among the Igbo.

According to the literature, it is regarded as the supreme ancestral symbol, the staff of authority and traditional influence, as well as the emblem of justice, truth, and a righteous life.

These staffs are borne by chiefs, priests, and village heads as symbols of their power.

Ein aus Holz geschnitzter Stab, verziert mit von Hand geschmiedeten Eisenmotiven, und eine große halbkugelförmige Eisenhaube.

Dieser Stab ist als "Ofo" bekannt, ein rituelles Symbol der Autorität unter den Igbo.
