Passion, Death and Resurrection of Christ, organized into several scenes.
The central scene
The main image seems to be the Anástasis or Descent of Christ into Hell, which in Orthodox tradition is the classic representation of the Resurrection.
Christ appears descending into Hades to release the Just from the Old Testament, especially:
Adam and Eve, whom Christ takes by the hand.
Kings, prophets and patriarchs.
The gates of Hell broken under His feet.

Therefore, although popularly called “The Resurrection,” iconographically the central scene is:
The Anástasis — Descent of Christ into Hell and the release of Adam and Eve.
The scenes surrounding the center
The icon includes episodes related to the final events of Christ’s life:
The Last Supper.
The prayer and arrest.
The judgment.
The Crucifixion.
The Descent from the Cross.
The Holy Burial.
The Holy Women before the Sepulcher.
The appearance of the risen Christ.

It is, therefore, an iconographic narrative of the Twelve Great Scenes of the Passion and Resurrection, with the Anástasis as the main scene.
