Vintage Wiener Automobil-Club (WAC) Grillebadge – Stöger Wien VII - No. 71
Beautiful and rare vintage grille badge from the Wiener Automobil-Club (WAC) in Austria.
This handsome metal and enamel badge features a characteristic blue enamel outer ring bearing the text “WIENER AUTOMOBIL CLUB.” In the center lies the historic Viennese coat of arms with the well-known white cross on a red field. Above the shield, the emblem is richly decorated with winged automobile wheels and lightning bolts, typical of automotive design from the first half of the 20th century.
Such club badges were mounted by members on the grille of their automobiles as a sign of membership and solidarity with the automobilist club. Exemplars in this condition are particularly decorative and interesting for collectors of vintage automobilia, enamel badges, Austrian car clubs, and historic car accessories.
The badge is signed on the back “Stöger Wien VII” and bears the number 71, which gives the badge an extra authentic and collectible character.
