Refined Antique Flat-Front Desk in the Louis XV Style

A refined antique flat-front desk in the Louis XV style, characterized by an elegant structure with undulating, sinuous lines. The piece features a rich wood veneer with grain arranged geometrically and numerous gilded decorative profiles that emphasize its forms. The shaped top is enhanced by a wide central panel on a black background, finely decorated with a multicolored composition depicting musical instruments, sheet music, flowers and botanical motifs, enclosed within an elegant ornamental frame. The front frieze houses a wide central drawer, decorated with gilded bronze appliqués with botanical motifs and two carved knobs.

Particularly dramatic are the four curved legs, enriched at the top by substantial figurative mounts in gilded bronze and finished below with elegant decorative shoe-like feet. Additional small botanical motifs in gilded metal embellish the sides of the frieze.
