The Handle (Silver Cast) The pommel-shaped knob features a rich and dense floral and foliage decoration (rococo motifs / acanthus leaves) hand-chiseled with excellent relief and depth. The top of the knob displays a personalized finish with a heraldic monogram interlaced and hand-engraved, adding a unique character of exclusivity to the piece. Identification of Contrasts (Silver Marks): The lower ring of the silver bears two official French marks of guarantee: The Purity/Assay Mark (Poinçon de Petite Garantie): It is identified by the oval shape corresponding historically to the Boar’s Head (Tête de Sanglier). This official Paris assay mark certifies that the silver has a minimum purity of 800/1000 (French 2nd-grade silver), widely used in decorative pieces of fine jewelry-making from this period. The Master Mark (Poinçon de Maître): It appears in a lozenge/cartouche en lozenge shape.
