Napoleon III Glove Box — Brass Inlay & Amaranth Wood

Description:
Stunning Napoleon III-era glove box (second half of the 19th century) in blackened wood. The lid is adorned with a fine Rocaille brass cartouche engraving and two brass inlays framing it.
The interior reveals a superb amaranth veneer with warm tones and a large compartment. The box is complete with its original lock and a functional wrought-iron key.

Condition:
Good condition for its age. Antiqued patina, light cracks/usage gaps in the lid varnish that attest to its authenticity. Inlay well preserved, hinges and lock solid.
Two brass fillets missing.

Description :
Superbe boîte à gants d'époque Napoléon III (seconde moitié du XIXe siècle) en bois noirci. Le couvercle est agrémenté d'un fin cartouche rocaille en laiton gravé et de deux filets de laiton en encadrement.
L'intérieur dévoile un superbe placage en amarante aux nuances chaleureuses et un grand compartiment. La boîte est complète avec sa serrure d'origine et sa clé en fer forgé fonctionnelle.
État :
Bel état de conservation pour son âge. Patine d'époque, légères craquelures/fentes d'usage sur le vernis du couvercle qui témoignent de son authenticité. Marqueterie bien conservée, charnières et serrure solides.
