A particularly elegant and richly decorated brass hanging sanctuary lamp (sanctuary lamp / lampada), complete with the original ruby-red glass cup. This religious object is made of glossy polished brass and features refined detailed relief decorations, such as classical leaf and scroll motifs around the central reservoir and decorative openworked intermediate pieces on the suspension chains. At the bottom of the reservoir hangs a graceful brass cross as a refined finishing touch. The lamp hangs on three sturdy chain links that converge at a matching rosette at the top, allowing the lot to be hung directly. The removable red glass insert is completely intact and suitable for an oil lamp or sanctuary candle. The piece is in excellent, very clean condition with only minimal signs of age and use. A beautiful and atmospheric piece for the collector of religious art, ecclesiastical antiques, or as a unique decorative element in a classical interior.
