1-ounce gold Krugerrand from 1977, the famous investment coin issued by the South African Mint.

Reverse: shows a Springbok gazelle, a jumping antelope symbol of South Africa, designed by the renowned sculptor Coert Steynberg. To the sides of the animal is divided the year of minting, 1977. At the top appears the inscription KRUGERRAND and at the bottom the weight and purity indication in double language (Afrikaans and English): FYNGOUD 1 OZ FINE GOLD.

Obverse: features the profile of the then-President of the Republic of South Africa Paul Kruger (designed by Otto Schultz), surrounded by the inscription SUID-AFRIKA · SOUTH AFRICA.
