This Lori, hand-knotted in India, denotes a finer variant of the Gabbeh carpet. They are usually characterized by color-intensive, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori carpets are mainly found in a color spectrum that relates to cream, brown, yellow, and grey tones. Less commonly there are also red or blue.
Depending on the viewing angle, distinct light and dark shades of the pile yarn can be seen. The reason is that the pile yarn runs perpendicular to the longitudinal direction, which makes the colors shimmer lightly and makes the carpet resistant to soiling.
