This Lori, hand-knotted in India, represents a finer variant of the Gabbeh carpet. They are typically characterized by color-intensive, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori carpets are mainly found in a color spectrum that ranges from cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Red or blue are less common.
From different viewing angles, one can perceive distinct light and dark shading of the pile yarn. The reason is that the pile yarn runs transversely to the length direction, which makes the colors shimmer lightly and the carpet resistant to soiling.
