This Lori rug handwoven in India denotes a finer variant of the Gabbeh carpet. They are usually characterized by color-rich, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori carpets mainly fall within a color spectrum that includes cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Red or blue is less commonly found.
From different viewing angles, one can perceive distinct light and dark shading of the pile yarn. The reason is that the pile yarn runs crosswise to the length, which makes the colors shimmer lighter and the rug resistant to soiling.
