This Lori, hand-knotted in India, denotes a finer variant of the Gabbeh carpet. They are usually characterized by color-intensive, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori carpets are mainly found in a color spectrum that relates to cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Red or blue are found less commonly.
Depending on the viewing angle, noticeable light and dark shading of the pile yarn can be seen. The reason is that the pile yarn runs perpendicular to the length, which makes the colors shimmer lightly and makes the carpet resistant to soiling.
