This Lori hand-knotted in India represents a finer variant of the Gabbeh rug. They are usually characterized by colorfully intense, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori rugs are mainly found in a color spectrum that ranges from cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Red or blue are also less commonly found.
Depending on the viewing angle, you can notice distinct light and dark shading of the pile yarn. The reason is that the pile yarn runs crosswise to the length, which makes the colors shimmer lightly and the rug resistant to soiling.
