This Lori handwoven in India represents a finer variant of the Gabbeh rug. They are usually characterized by color-intensive, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori carpets are mainly found in a color spectrum that includes cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Less commonly, red or blue can also be found.
Depending on the viewing angle, one can notice distinct light and dark shades of the pile yarn. The reason is that the pile yarn runs crosswise to the length, which makes the colors shimmer lighter and the rug resistant to soiling.
