Commercialised within the 996 generation, the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 reuses the rear-mounted flat-6 engine architecture with permanent all-wheel drive. First generation of the 911 equipped with water cooling (M96 engine), it marked a major technological turning point in the brand’s history while retaining the technical characteristics of the model.
