Armchair - BOIS NOBLE - old office chair

Semi-circular (cabriole) Empire/Neoclassical-style desk chair dating from the late 19th or early 20th century.

Solid noble wood structure with fine inlays of marquetry (fretwork) on the backrest and arms. The seat features natural rattan cane, in very good condition, sturdy and well tensionsed. Ornate with gilded bronze fittings (ormolu) in Neoclassical motifs (palmettes, laurel wreaths and ribbons).

Restoration and signs of use: There is an old crack that has been consolidated at the upper curve of the backrest (see photos). A discreet repair/ reinforcement has also been carried out on one of the legs. These marks attest to its age and do not affect the overall stability of the piece.
