Satin is a smooth, even, and lustrous fabric that presents two opposite faces: on one side it is smooth and shiny, and on the other it is matte. It is a refined fabric, but very delicate because it is made up of glossy fibers that can easily discolor or lose luster. Therefore, it is advisable to wash, dry, and iron the fabric with particular care and specific precautions.

Contrary to what many believe, satin is not a fiber, but a weaving – that is, a particular interlacing of warp and weft threads – which can be made using different types of fibers: natural fibers such as silk, wool, cotton, or synthetic threads such as polyester and acetate.

It never goes out of style and lends itself to various uses; in the furnishings sector for upholstering sofas, chairs, and armchairs, thanks to its robust weave. For the same reason, it is often used to line or upholster cushions, to pair with sofas covered in solid colors or neutral shades.
