Magnificent bust depicting Emma, heroine of Jane Austen's novel. This neoclassical-style sculpture is made of alabaster and rests on a marble base, bringing refinement and elegance.
The work is signed Arnaldo Giannelli and dated 1972 on the back. It was created by Arnaldo Giannelli, Italian sculptor born in 1907 in Volterra, famous for his alabaster sculptures. He opened his studio in 1944 and served as president of the Guild of Alabaster Craftsmen from 1953 to 1961.
A refined decorative piece, representative of Italian artistic production of the 20th century.
