Neolithic large ‘Tilemsi’ spear point, made of flint and agate, dating to 7200–4500 years ago, in very good condition, dimensions 90 × 25 mm, provenance Belgium from a private collection, authentic/original.
Description from the seller
This large spearhead could serve as a spear point and was first discovered in eastern Mali, hence its specific name 'Tilemsi spearhead'. Although the name refers to a region in Mali, this object comes from Niger. The spearhead was made from flint that was first warmed before being worked. In this way, one could obtain removals that were relatively long and straight. The tip was finely retouched. The base was also finely retouched and the spearhead is very thin.
In perfect condition, no restorations.
