Grande Patelle, a Roman antique translucent pale green glass patella from the 4th century A.D., measuring 66 × 118 × 118 mm, in excellent condition and authentic, originally from a French auction collection, acquired in 2025 from a French auction house, with an invoice, certificate of authenticity and export licence where applicable.
Description from the seller
Large translucent pale-green patella glass with convex walls, a vertical-edged lip, and an upper and lower finished hem. It rests on a hollow base formed by a widened annular foot, the bottom of the patella having been pinched at the outer edge and pushed back toward its center, which creates a bottom with a wavy appearance. It is only partially covered by a very fine iridescent layer and earthy deposits.
