Magnificent wall mirror with a striking shield (cartouche) silhouette, richly ornamented in the purest Rococo style.
The frame features sumptuous decorative work, crowned by an imposing asymmetric pediment. All around, the intricate reliefs of volutes in 'C', rocaille (shellwork), and delicate floral motifs that flow organically along the sides to the lower apron.
The inner surround displays an elegant textured contrast in ivory/creme tone, highlighting the piece's shape. The mirror bears slight signs of time, giving it an authentic vintage patina highly valued in the antiques market. A scenographic piece with great visual impact, perfect for classical, palatial or contemporary eclectic interiors.
