This Lori, hand-knotted in India, represents a finer variant of the Gabbeh rug. They are typically characterized by vibrant, geometric patterns as well as monochrome designs. Lori rugs mainly fall within a color spectrum of cream, brown, yellow, and gray tones. Red or blue are less common.
Depending on the viewing angle, distinct light and dark shading of the pile yarn can be seen. The reason is that the pile yarn runs across the length, which makes the colors shimmer and the rug less susceptible to soiling.
