Ex voto - Wood - Grace Received

An ex voto or grace received from the first half of the 18th century and an oil on panel painting. It concerns (see subject) an offering made to a religious figure for intercession from a prayer to the Madonna. A typical object of Italian popular religiosity, where faithful, after a presumed miracle, would commission local painters to create these kinds of works, narrating the gesture or the alleged miracle. The painting measures 25x20x3 cm, dated 1708 and bearing the painter's initials. Good state of preservation, anti-woodworm treatment carried out; due to current regulations it cannot be shipped outside the European Union.
