This hand-knotted Oriental rug from Pakistan showcases a classic Keshan design. The dark blue inner field is defined by a large, elaborately worked central medallion in gold-brown, cream and light blue. Numerous flowers, palmettes and flowing vines symmetrically fill the field.

Decorative corner ornaments and a wide floral main border harmoniously frame the detailed composition. The contrasting color scheme in dark blue, gold-brown, cream, green and old pink gives the rug an elegant and expressive effect.
