The obverse features ONE CENT together with the Chinese inscription, surrounded by BRITISH NORTH BORNEO CO. The reverse shows the British North Borneo Company coat of arms and the date.

The coin retains a natural dark brown to black-brown patina, with normal signs of circulation and storage. The main details and inscriptions remain clearly visible.
