Nove di Bassano - Centrepiece - Glazed and hand-painted ceramic

Elegant decorative box or terrine in Italian ceramic from Nove, characterized by a richly sculpted plastic decoration with lemons and leaves modeled in relief.

The entire surface is animated by a very scenographic botanical composition: the lemons, molded with an irregular surface realistically reproducing the rind of the fruit, are painted in vivid yellow tones and alternate with large green leaves, arranged on a white glazed background.

Particularly successful is the domed lid, also completely decorated, culminating in two full-round lemons surrounded by leaves, which serve as a handle and give the piece a strong sculptural presence.

The decoration deliberately preserves the character of artisanal work, with variations in green and yellow tones and brushstrokes visible under the glossy glaze.

The contrast between white, green and yellow makes the piece particularly bright and decorative, perfect for a Mediterranean kitchen, a Provencal or country chic interior, or as a centerpiece, container, or decorative element.

On the bottom is the mark “NOVE – MADE IN ITALY,” identifying its Italian production tied to the Nove ceramic tradition, an important manufacturing center in Veneto.

The item is presented in good vintage condition, with normal signs of aging and small chipping/ superficial glaze losses visible in some spots, compatible with its age and the artisanal nature of the piece.
