Description from the seller

Elegant antique European fan, datable to the late 19th century, preserved in an attractive wooden gilded fan stand with a red velvet background and a glass protection.
The country (scene) features a delicate hand-painted decoration, with female figures among flowering branches and vegetal motifs in soft pastel tones. The composition, romantic and historicist in inspiration, recalls the Rococo taste revived during the second half of the 19th century.
Highlighting its elaborately pierced and carved mount, enriched with gold decoration and floral and ornamental motifs. In appearance and characteristics, the material of the ribs seems to be an organic material, probably bone.
The piece preserves the appeal typical of a collectible object with considerable age. The country shows wear, small losses, and signs of the passage of time, visible in the photographs, while the mount retains much of its rich decoration. The fan stand likewise shows slight signs of aging.
The set constitutes a beautiful piece of European decorative arts, especially interesting for collectors of antique fans, period objects, and romantic decor.
Dimensions of the fan stand: approximately 55 cm maximum width × 35 cm height.
The fan is sold as presented in its fan stand and has not been dismantled to avoid any risk of deterioration. The photographs are an integral part of the description and allow a detailed appreciation of its condition.
