Stone head of a Bodhisattva from the Gupta Empire, dating to ca. 320–535 A.D., 30 cm high, provenance from a private collection, authentic and in good condition with minor damage to the nose and aging patina.

A large stone head of a Bodhisattva. Gupta period ca.: 320-535 A.D., from Northern India. With a serene face, bow-shaped mouth and full lips beneath an aquiline nose, arched eyebrows in relief, and heavy-lidded eyes, wearing ear jewels, his hair secured with a high turban elaborated with festoons and strings of pearls.

Height: 30 cm (Height with hardwood custom stand is 38 cm)

Net weight 8.7 kg (with packing could fall in the 10 to 20 kg packet category)
