Late 19th / Early 20th Century French Travel Sewing Necessaire – Silver Thimble & Original Accessories
Charming antique French travel sewing necessaire dating from the late 19th to early 20th century. This compact rectangular case features rounded sides, a richly textured leather-effect covering decorated with a diamond pattern and metal studs, dark metal fittings and carrying chains. The interior is lined in vivid pink fabric.

Origin & Period: France, late 19th / early 20th century.
Contents: Sewing hooks/tools, needle case, threader, needles, decorative star-shaped thread winders with period threads, and a silver sewing thimble.
Authenticity: The thimble bears the French boar’s head hallmark for 800/1000 silver. The case features a plaque marked “BREVETÉ S.G.D.G. PARIS”.
Craftsmanship: Hinged construction with opening sections, metal reinforcements, decorative studding and transport chains.
Dimensions closed: 12.5 × 7 × 5 cm (4.92 × 2.76 × 1.97 inches).
Condition: Authentic antique condition with visible wear, losses, tears and deterioration consistent with age. The needle-case cap is currently stuck. Please examine the photographs carefully.
